Nymphs.

Gold Head Pheasant Tail Nymph

Gold bead variation on a simple, classic trout nymph. Its ability to sink quickly makes it ideal for faster flowing New Zealand rivers. Larger sizes can work well on the Tongariro River for winter Rainbows.

Alder Nymph

A fly that heralds from the UK and has proven to be a hit on NZs lake trout. A small amount of weight tied under the thorax provides a wonderful diving, swimming motion when retrieved in twitches on a floating line.

Flexibody PT Nymph

Flexibody applied to the Pheasant Tail Nymph gives a highly realistic look and feel. Another benefit is the new material makes the fly far more robust.

Black Buzzer Nymph

Buzzer nymphs are very important for lake fishing, especially where trout are denied the opprtunity to feed on large shoals of smelt. Deadly when fished as part of a team of flies in a European style.

Gold Head Hair and Copper

Possibly responsible for fooling more trout than any other nymph. This gold head variation provides additional weight and thus makes it more useful in NZs faster flowing streams and rivers.

Olive Flexibody Nymph

The use of modern tying materials can add additional spice to some traditional patterns. Here transparent flexibody is wrapped tightly over the olive body to add a lifelike translucent effect and speed the sink rate.

Flexishell Shrimp

A heavily weighted fly that sinks quickly, ideal for searching out the bottom of deeper pools or faster runs. Effective in a range of colour combinations.

PT Buzzer Nymph

Another great variation on the Pheasant Tail nymph. This time the slim profile and curved body shape give the fly an unmistakable buzzer quality. Excellent for use on lakes.
